

He doesn't value friendship like Twilight does, and so she has the ability to surpass him. He's powerful, but we've seen that the Magic of Friendship is the most powerful magic of all. So I get to see Misty reckon with and transcend some of those things and accept the parts of herself that may be different. Yet who actually feel they don’t fit in or are unworthy. Those who might feel they are in this sparkling world, around all these sparkling people (and ponies), who can seem like they are so together and perfect.

I think she represents a lot of kids and adults. Being able to share that journey with our audiences is something I find very meaningful. You can see the efforts she makes to figure things out, to grow and learn.

She’s imperfect, she’s awkward and sometimes uncool. I love her because she is completely flawed and makes big mistakes. She has experienced hardship and struggles.
